The charming fishing villages, pretty harbours and rolling countryside have attracted visitors to Cornwall for many years.
Esplanade Hotel, Pentire
• 3 star
• 90 bedrooms
• Leisure facilities
• Indoor swimming pool
Day 1 Travel to the hotel near Newquay with a stop in Exeter.
Day 2 Excursion to the world famous Eden Project. This unique regeneration project has transformed a scar on the landscape into a global garden featuring two enormous glass biomes. The Eden Project is always changing so, even if you've been before, you'll see something different this time.
Day 3 Travel south to Falmouth for some free time to explore before taking a boat journey to Truro across Falmouth's magnificent harbour and along the waters of the River Fal. Passengers can enjoy a sailor's view of St Just, Trelissick and Tolverne. (Please note that at low tide, the ferry moors at Malpas Village rather than Truro). Spend some time exploring the cobbled streets of Truro before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 Travel to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, amazingly discovered in 1991 under a blanket of brambles after 70 years of neglect. Many of the original plants have been rescued. We then make an afternoon visit to the delightful village of Mevagissey, one of Cornwall's most picturesque fishing villages and Fowey, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
